A cutting-edge approach
to help you feel better faster.

Overview

What is a therapy intensive?

A Therapy Intensive is an accelerated form of therapy designed to help clients go deeper and get results faster. Instead of attending therapy one hour per week for a year, why not carve out a week for Therapy Intensives and a weekend of rest after? It’s a cutting-edge approach to help people feel better faster. No need for a weekly therapy appointment.

In fact, many people think of Therapy Intensives like a retreat. For that weekend or week you can unplug, take time off work, get a babysitter, or even stay in a hotel. This time is completely dedicated to you so you can focus on healing, reflecting, and reconnecting.

Client Testimonial

What is the EMDR process like? My life is lighter. Not in the sense that I don’t have heavy feelings, negative feelings but I’m able to carry them better because I am stronger and have the correct mindset/tools to help alleviate the weight. I am a person who is structured/organized and finds comfort in routine/processes. EMDR has provided me with the tools to approach difficult situation in a structure/organized and processing manner. This helps me tremendously make sense of my chaos and keep my life in order to help with stress. I didn’t expect EMDR to “work while I wasn’t working directly on it.” It was fascinating to me that from one day to the next I felt entirely different about a traumatic/stressful situation. Almost like a light switch had turned on without me even trying. But I know it worked because I had subconsciously planted a seed with EMDR. It was like magic! Why would you do this? Becky has been so patient and is an incredible active listener. One thing I love about her is that she isn’t just a person sitting and “listening saying…hmmm and yeah..” She actually gives me TOOLS so that I can help myself work through things more successfully. I can particularly relate to her as a mother, a female, a business owner and this is extremely helpful because she can empathize with any stress I have. Why would I choose Becky as my guide? I would encourage people to reach out to Becky because she is an AMAZING person who genuinely cares about her clients. I have been a client of Becky’s for four years now and it says something that she has many long term clients. She is a passionate psychotherapist who constantly works to improve herself/craft and learn how to serve her clients better. She is passionate, empathetic and effective. She not only listens but provides tools and techniques that clients can use rather than just go to “vent” to a therapist. I have seen Becky both in person/office and virtually after her move out of California and honestly (while I absolutely appreciated feeling her warm/welcoming energy in person) say that the modality has not impacted the wonderful service she provides in any way. Telehealth/Spruce have allowed us to still connect, speak, see each other and work through tools using technology in an effective way. Initially I was worried that the in person connection would suffer not being able to visit with her in person, but it truly has not. I also believe that for many people, being able to see Becky from the comfort of their home/safe space would enhance the experience and allow them to be relaxed during their sessions. Did you have any concerns about doing this via telehealth? I completed my EMDR treatment via telehealth/Simple Practice (virtually). I believe this modality was completely effective/successful despite some who may think that an in-person (office) meeting would be better. I was able to discuss/walk through my trauma in the comfort of my safe space (my home) and the virtual connections worked just fine. It wasn’t clunky, it was seamless in that I was able to keep the “ball” on my computer while speaking with her, we transitioned from the desensitization part just fine. I missed getting to give her a “thank you hug” at the end of session, but her smile and love were completely felt still. For anyone who is vacillating between wanting an in person and virtual session, I would recommend knowing why you have that personal preference. For example, if a person has high anxiety then perhaps the virtual session would work just fine/as successful because you can stay in your “safe space.” Becky’s video/face and positive soothing energy still feels completely personal/real and that helps. I would absolutely recommend the virtual experience in this treatment and believe it is just as effective as in person/office.

Who is Becky?

Meet Becky Verbansky, M.S., L.M.F.T.

I hold Marriage and Family Therapist licenses in Arizona and California and have practiced for over twenty years with all ages and backgrounds. My work has taken me to schools, non-profits, hospital settings, as well as college campuses as a therapist and professor. I have served the community as a Clinical Director, Clinical Supervisor, Adjunct Professor, professional trainer, and private practice owner.

I have extensive, comprehensive training in EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and I love sharing it with my clients because it is absolutely life changing and affirming! It is also a leading evidence-based therapy for processing traumatic or overwhelming experiences. Even with my training in multiple modalities, I can meet with someone and quickly see how they can benefit from EMDR. I encourage strong congruence in my clients, to live their values and best lives. I have undergone my own EMDR treatment and continue to have ‘tune ups’ when needed to be my best self. Let me help you do this for yourself too.

More than anything, I am human and a fellow traveler on the journey. The most powerful thing I do in therapy is to share my humanness. I understand what it is REALLY like to live through painful experiences, and you get permission to say the things that we do not think we can say aloud to anyone. That is what helps my clients feel seen, heard, and fully understood. That is how healing genuinely happens.

I am fiercely empathic because I have lived it. I am a trauma survivor. I live with chronic illness. I am neurodivergent and a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP). I am a parent of an exceptional, high needs child. I have survived suicide, deaths, career failures, persecution, and experienced vicarious trauma in my career as a helping professional. I know how hard these experiences can land and that none of us can do it alone—no matter how hard we try and if you are like me, you have tried hard to just be okay, but I want you to be SO MUCH more than okay!

I primarily work with high performers, business owners, other therapists/ medical professionals, teachers, and parents! Intensives allow us to do a bunch of self-work and get back to our lives in short amounts of time.

You are valuable and deserve to be known, seen, heard, understood, cared for, and healed. Now, not later.
